    Employment

Phoenix Society provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities who are receiving, or are eligible to receive, a Disability Service Pension. Abilities and learning potential differ widely between individuals. But no matter how severe the disability of a person, there is always potential for success.

    Developing the skills of people.

Whilst Phoenix prides itself on operating good commercial operations and sophisticated training programs, ably supported by good Public Relations and Fundraising programs, it never loses sight of its main purpose, which is to develop the skills of people.

By a combination of all of the above, Phoenix is able to introduce employees with disabilities into work situations. Many come with low initial skills, but, through our programs and specialised training, we are able to provide opportunities, allowing them to develop as individuals.

Our programs seek to improve confidence and help individuals realise that they have genuine abilities of value to others as well as themselves.

The cost of the specialised training needed can be very high, but the outcomes are priceless. To achieve these results, requires ongoing financial support from Government, business in particular and the community at large.

The assistance of parents, guardians and friends is vital during the training programs to encourage individuals participating in what can be a difficult and lengthy process.

We are proud of the development that we help people to achieve. We are proud of the skills that we are able to impart. We are proud to be an organisation whose overriding purpose is skills development and provision of opportunities.

Phoenix Society offers a diverse range of employment opportunities at four different facilities, each of which offers different types of work opportunities.
